| The TT swap on my 2+2 is pretty much complete. Unfortunately the turbos I bought from Nadir continue to smoke. If anything they are getting worse. I've put about 500 miles on them since my original post hoping that (as some of you said) the issue would go away once the seals reseat themselves. I guess after 500+ miles it's fair to say the turbos are just bad. So... Assuming that i don't want to drive it this way (It is an attention getter!) Tim has to pull the engine again and i'll have to replace these smoke bombs. Since i'll be spending more money to fix it, i just want to get people's opinions. I'm sure many of you have been at this juncture before... Whether to spend $500, $1500, or $3,000... My options are... ______Using my existing setup:_______ 1) another set of used stockers ~ $500 2) Z1 rebuilt stock turbos ~ $1250 3) new stock turbos ~ $1695 -or- ______Upgrading to bigger injectors (+$800), etc.:______ 4) Sport 500's ~ $1995 5) Z1 GT525 Turbo Kit ~ $1950 6) Something else. What. I have the Megan racing testpipes and downpipes and am getting the 2.5" catback installed next week. I was planning to get in on the Z1 intercooler groupbuy anyway. And my budget for turbos and injectors would be something around $3,000 max. Which of these in the long run do you think is the best choice for a street driven daily driver with stock motor? Reliability is probably key since i don't do any mechanical work myself (for public safety reasons) and Tim is losing all of his hair already.
